Crazy Crafter's July Blog Hop with Special Guest - Tami White

Welcome to another Crazy Crafter's Blog Hop with special guest Tami White and wow - what a privilege. Tami is a Stampin' Up! Demo from America and is very talented. She has a cool periscope channel too which I often catch where she does crafting live. If you'd like to know more about Tami - click on this link to see her amazing blog.

It was hard to choose a card to CASE (copy and selectively edit) as Tami has made so many brilliant cards. I ended up going with one using the Swirly Bird stamp set and matching Framelits as it's one I wanted to play with some more. Here is the card I chose.

And here is the card that I came up with:

I liked that Tami's card consisted of mainly swirls - and so I went with this theme for my background. I used Sweet Sugar Plum cardstock for the swirls and White embossing powder
for the rest. The sentiment was from 'Thankful Thoughts'.

After making this card - I couldn't just stop at one, and so made a second card with some slight variations. What do you think?

Well thanks for stopping by, don't forget to check out all the other amazing cards that were created by The Crazy Crafters!

Products I used for this card:

  • Swirly Bird bundle
  • Fast fuse
  • Stampin dimensionals
  • White emboss powder
  • Embossing buddy
  • Black cardstock
  • Sweet Sugar Plum cardstock
  • Thankful Thoughts
  • Black memento ink
  • Clear embossing powder

Crazy Crafter's Team Highlights - Botanical Blooms

Z - Fold Card using the Botanical Blooms Bundle

Hi folks,

it's been a little while since I posted to my blog, so I thought I would have a little play with the Botanical Blooms set and try it out on a Z - Fold Card. I had so much fun putting this card together, and am really happy with the result. I haven't put a sentiment onto this card as I thought I'd keep it as a spare in case I need it and then attach an appropriate sentiment at that time.

I am sharing this card on the Crazy Crafter's Team Highlights - make sure your check out all the other talented people in this team and vote for your 3 favourite cards!

here is my card:

You can see why it's called a 'Z fold card'!

This is the card folded up

and this is inside the card

Now Let's Talk Technique

To get the multi-coloured effect on the flowers and the leaves I used re-inkers (Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo) on a few tissues.

By making sure the 3 colours were dropped close enough together - they blended making additional colours (green, orange, purple).

After this, I stamped into the coloured tissues and straight onto Whisper White cardstock. Below is the result. Each flower looks slightly different, but the effect is fantastic.

Here is a closer look at how the flowers turned out.

For the leaves I used Daffodil Delight and Old Olive on tissues to create the effect of a leaf changing colour during the seasons.

Finally, the details for the Z Fold card came from a YouTube clip I found created by a lady called Dawn. I used the same measurements that she suggests in her video. If you're interested in the details - then click on the link below.

Crazy Crafters Team Highlights - Shooting Star

Shooting Star

Hi everyone,

I hope your week has been fun and productive during the first week of the school holidays, for those of you with kids home I'm sure it's been hectic! As for me, it's been difficult to craft but I did manage to stay up late a couple of nights in a row to play with this new set called "Shooting Star" with matching framelits!

Here is what I made:

Check out the video, the bee rotates around the card really well!

It's such a fun set, am so glad I purchased it. I am going to invest in some small washers which I will pick up from Bunnings. At the moment I'm using 2 x 5 cent pieces to create my spinning wheel. The result is still the same but it will be a lighter card and will make the difference if popping in the post!

Hope you like my card, don't forget to vote for your favourite this week. Click the link below to vote.

Here are the other variations I made.

Global Design Project #042 Sketch Challenge

HereShooting Star - Birthday Card - Sketch Challenge #GDP042

Hi everyone,

and welcome to another GDP042 (click on this link to see other cool creations) - I have decided to again participate and showcase the new Shooting Star Framelits that make the coolest cards with moveable spinning parts. I also use a couple of other new stamp sets for the sentiment (Time of Year)  and the background of the card (Swirly Bird) - which I heat embossed in white. I thought the combination of both these sets would help to define the sketch challenge. My interpretation of the sketch is my Shooting Star playing the part of the offset heart from the sketch. These cards are so much fun to do!

Here is my card :)

Using the new foam strips made this card really easy to put together - if you haven't tried the new foam strips then you need to get a supply of it!!

Here are some other cards I made using the same Shooting Star Framelits and matching stamp set.
