Case this Card - #CTC009

Welcome back to my blog this week where I am playing along with Jessie Holton's Case This Card Challenge. I won the card challenge last week - how exciting!!

But the hardest part was casing my own card - hahahaah

I find it so easy to look at other cards and CASE them however I didn't find the task easy when having to do my own card.

Here is my winning card for last week - #CTC008.

So after lots of thinking and deliberating, I decided to CASE my colour scheme and use flowers again to carry the theme across.

I also decided that if I was making the card for a particular recipient in mind, it would make the creating part easier.

I decided to make a card for my lovely neighbor who has kindly given me a heap of plants to kick start my own garden. My garden is really coming along and looks so much better with a few plants tucked in amongst the already established palm trees.

So here is the card I came up with:

I used quite a few different stamp sets and punches for this card. I wanted to create a wooden fence with lots of flowers growing over the top (to create the over the fence neighbor scene).

I used Bermuda Bay, Dapper Denim and Sweet Sugar Plum as my colour scheme to Case from my original card. I stamped using black Stazon for my sentiment on acetate so it didn't cover up the fence in the background.

I white heat embossed all my flowers and then watercoloured over them with Sweet Sugar Plum for the large flowers and Bermuda Bay for the smaller flowers. The small green leaves that feature in my card were from botanical blooms. The colouring technique for this was done with re-inkers and tissues. I previously blogged about this technique so if you are interested in finding out how I created them click here.

The fence was created by stamping out using a combination of Bermuda bay and dapper denim onto the background stamp - Hardwood.
I then cut it up into wooden palings and glued back to the card onto melon mambo cardstock using foam adhesive strips. this gave my fence some depth and would enable me to stick flowers behind it like a real fence with flowers growing behind and over it.
The top of the fence was snipped off and reused to create the wooden support beams (so it looked like a real fence).

I used some cute embellishments on some of the flowers to create some more depth and interest. I hope you enjoyed popping over to my blog today. Be sure to check out the other cards for this week's challenge and join in with this challenge too.
